Hi OWA members,
We are excited to have Lindsey Wood, Tiny Home Expert, to spend a hour of her time and share her Tiny Homes journey.
https://www.thetinyhomelady.com/media.html

We will be asking her the following questions:
Types of tiny homes
Tiny Home on Wheels – opportunities for architects?
Foundation Based – tiny home, ADU, JADU, Modular built
Design for Small Space – best practices, your recommendations
Some ideas for your presentation:
- Clients: Who are the major clients?
- Bay Area Cities and Permit Issues
- Site location: over her years of experience, what is the best location for an ADU/tiny home if the site is big enough to allow some options?
- Square Feet/size: Does Lindsey have an optimum size she recommends, again assuming that the property is big enough for some different sizes.
- Height: Tiny homes have lofts/bedroom mezzanines, do clients prefer a formal 2nd story?
- Length of construction: stick-built vs tiny home.
- Fees: what do clients either request or expect to pay for design fees?
- Car Parking: many communities have waived care parking requirements. However, subdivisions with lots of ADUs often have crowded streets with lots of cars in the street. How can this be mitigated?
- Insurance. Which type gets home insurance? What certifications does a tiny home need to get coverage?
